Richard Hutson

Supervising Attorney

Richard Iain Hutson graduated from Cornell University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts in Government. Mr. Hutson went on to earn his Masters Degree in Criminal Justice from the State University of New York, College at Buffalo in 2002. In 2005, Mr. Hutson received his Juris Doctor from Ohio Northern University, Pettit College of Law in Ada, Ohio. In law school, Mr. Hutson received the Dean’s Academic Scholarship, was on the Moot Court Board of Advocates and a member of the Moot Court Trial Team, and also spent his last two years as a teaching assistant in Property Law. Prior to joining Friedman, Framme & Thrush, P.A., Mr. Hutson worked as an associate with a Virginia firm, where he practiced construction and commercial litigation in state and federal courts, and represented creditors in Chapter 11 Bankruptcy cases and in Bankruptcy preference actions throughout the country.

At Friedman, Framme & Thrush, P.A., Mr. Hutson practices commercial litigation representing creditors in state and federal courts, including a variety of Bankruptcy Chapter 7, 11 and 13 matters and state court litigation. Mr. Hutson is licensed to practice law in the state and federal courts of Virginia, Maryland, and Ohio, and is admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and the United States Supreme Court.

Mr. Hutson is a member of the Northern Virginia Bankruptcy Bar Association, the Northern Virginia Black Attorneys’ Association, and the Congressman Walter Chandler American Inn of Court. When Mr. Hutson is not at work he enjoys spending time with his wife and kids, and watching the latest comic book movie to hit the silver screen.
